How It All Began

Our story started as next-door neighbors at The University of Oklahoma. Mutual friends invited us to dinner at a little Italian restaurant on our street. Rusty pulled out the chair beside Alexis and asked if the seat was taken— and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

Our Story

On a rainy evening in August 2022, our friends gathered to celebrate the beginning of our senior year of college. We were next-door neighbors living just steps away; what began as a simple conversation that night became a moment that set the path for the rest of our lives.

Our group decided to grab dinner at a small Italian restaurant nearby to close out the night. We sat next to each other, and as the hours passed, we were completely lost in conversation (and espresso martinis). We spoke about our dreams, what we hoped for in a partner, and everything in between—hardly noticing the rest of the table heading home.

By the time the restaurant started gently ushering us out as they were closing, it was clear neither of us wanted the conversation to end. We walked home together in the rain, and our first official date was planned.

That first date came soon after, full of nerves, pizza, and a feeling that everything was falling into place. We both went home that night and immediately planned the next time we would see each other. From the very beginning, everything felt easy and natural. Our values, ambitions, and personalities aligned in a way that felt undeniable, and from that day on, we were inseparable.

After graduation, we moved back to Dallas to begin our next chapter and step into adulthood side by side. Through every season of change, one thing has remained constant—our love for each other. We thank God for that rainy night in Norman that changed our lives forever and led us to the love of our lives.

Our room block closes on March 17th; however, the hotel will gladly do their best to extend the discounted rate based on availability if you call the number listed above.

Transportation

We will be providing optional transportation. If you plan to use these shuttle services, please indicate so on your RSVP so we may safely accommodate you. Shuttles will depart at 4:15 PM from the Sandman Signature Hotel to The Olana, with return service to the hotel at the end of the evening.
